Albuterol vs Dulera

Consult your pharmacist. This product is used to control and prevent symptoms (wheezing and shortness of breath) caused by asthma. It contains 2 medications: mometasone and formoterol. Mometasone belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works by reducing the irritation and swelling of the airways. Formoterol belongs to the class of drugs known as long-acting beta agonists. It works by opening airways in the lungs to make breathing easier. Controlling symptoms of breathing problems can decrease time lost from work or school. This medication must be used regularly to be effective. It does not work immediately and should not be used to relieve sudden asthma attacks. If an asthma attack occurs, use your quick-relief inhaler (such as albuterol, also called salbutamol in some countries) as prescribed.

I think the medicine works. However, my daughter gets hyper sometimes, other times she goes to sleep afterwards.

My asthma is worse and the shaking snd dizziness are hard to cope with on top of not being able to breathe. I wouldn't recommend this medicine to my worst enemy.

I was extremely short of breath, and thought I would never breathe normally again until I started using Dulera. What a difference in my life!

Am on week 2 of this drug. Hyper effective, certainly, from first use. Nailed the asthma immediately; have not had to use Albuterol inhaler once. However, first week was strange, with unexpected results, effects, here and there. Extreme nervousness, lungs feeling overwhelmed, sudden weakening, full-chestedness - but all the while, able to breathe very freely. Now on week 2, do not 'feel' anything after taking the two puffs. That's how a good asthma medicine should work! One should not 'feel' anything as a reaction to it. Hopeful that all this good stuff continues. Able to resume running 4-5 times/week, which, at the end of the day, is the best cure for asthma!
