Amlodipine is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Amlodipine belongs to a class of drugs known as calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily.Diltiazem is used to prevent chest pain (angina). It may help to increase your ability to exercise and decrease how often you may get angina attacks. Diltiazem is called a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing blood vessels in the body and heart and lowers the heart rate. Blood can flow more easily and your heart works less hard to pump blood. initially put on high dose (10)mg to bring down HBP resulted in coming down too low and had LBP after visit to the Emergency Room. Best to have a cardiologist do the fine tuning on BP meds and not leave to a GP. Felt it was working well in conjunction with Benezepril med and dissipating some of my mild stroke symptoms. Doing hese meds in conjunction with largely fruits and veges diet, weight loss ...

I have had gum surgery (gingivectomy surgery) and will have the third surgery due to this calcium channel blocker. It worked great for the blood pressure but not for the gums. When I mentioned this to the pharmacist he knew exactly what I was talking about.I will go on an ace inhibitor for blood pressure and then have my lat gum surgery.

feet 3 x normal size, bruising everywhere on my body, abnormal rash on my penis causing bleeding, being heart transplant patient one would think doctors would look at interactions a bit more closely, asahme medical care has gotten this bad

This medicine made me check into the ER due to dropping my heart rate too low. I had very bad bout with weakness, feeling faint, lighthead ness , nausea, off balance, vertigo for the off balance, shortness of breath and so on. Remember that only God knows all and if you are having an issue with your medicine alert to Dr to get it changed

This is the only drug (cardizem cd) that lowered my BP, heart rate, and my lifetime pain from migraine headaches. It was not prescribed for my migraines. My migraines did stop however when I began taking cardizem cd for my BP and heart rate. When the migraines (had them even as a child), it was like God had finally reach out and touched me! The migraines had been horrible.I've beenon the drug for some time now.
