| Add Aricept review Many side effects. Anorexia, insomnia, diarrhea. No notable improvement in cognitive function. My father took 5 mg to start off. I was willing to try anything to help with the dementia. the first day i noticed zombie type behavior. i assumed it was his body getting use to it. Let's say after 4 days i threw it out. I've called her neurologist this morning after researching possible side effects. I've had her to the Dr. twice because she has been so weak, depressed, nauseous, loss of appetite, spent entire days in bed, complains of aches/pains, nightmares, talking in her sleep, pale and looks very dehydrated. The Dr. ordered blood work which came back fine and chest X-ray which came back fine... I'm now leaning toward this medicine causing the problems. Be very careful if you give your loved one this medication.. Have been taking donepezil for about 5 weeks. I thought it was helping me, but I am having second thoughts now. The last two nights I have been awaken. I was going to adjust my head to my pillow, but when I lifted my head I felt very dizzy. I tried to sit up in bed, but I couldn't. After I laid there for a few minutes I slowly sat up. Most of the dizziness was gone. I sat in my easy chair for a while and went back to bed and didn't wake up until 8am. This has happened the last 2 nights exactly alike. I don't know whether it was caused by a side effect of the donepezil or maybe by an interaction from another prescription.
