AtenololAtenolol NadololNadolol
Atenolol is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Atenolol is also used to treat chest pain (angina) and to improve survival after a heart attack.Nadolol is used alone or with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to prevent chest pain (angina). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. In the management of chest pain, nadolol may also help to reduce the frequency of chest pain episodes and improve your ability to exercise. Nadolol belongs to a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances such as adrenaline (epinephrine) on the heart and blood vessels. This results in a lowering of heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart. Because of insurance coverage this was cheaper than the Diovan I had been taking. I tried Lisinopril but got the bad "tickle cough" many get. Soon after increasing my dosage because it wasn't effective enough I got a very irritating cough that would not do away. I received allergy tests and chest xray which cost me $700 and were neg. Dr. wanted to do tests for GERD and sinus xrays next. ...

I have heart disease, (born with it) had 2 open heart surgeries, always suffered from palpitations, in 2009 I had to call 911 for myself, my heart would not convert back to normal rythm which i could normally do myself. I was diagnosed with A- Fib put on Nadolol & it works great. I also suffer from carpal tunnel which I believe has escalated since taking Nadolol...but ill deal with it :) Very satisfied!

I have been in and out of A-fib for several years now and have been on all the arythmia meds. 10 months ago I had a ablation which seemed to help. I have been on Flecainide and first Toprol and now Nadolol. I am experiencing a lot of muscle pain since being on these beta blockers. Has anyone else experienced that side effect? I have only experienced 3 mild A-fibs since.

flecanide and rythmol did not stop the arrhythmias but nadolol worked to stop decrease them by 90 per cent without side effects.
