BudesonideBudesonide PrednisonePrednisone
This medication is used to treat certain bowel conditions (such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis). While budesonide does not cure these conditions, it may decrease symptoms such as pain and diarrhea. Budesonide is an anti-inflammatory drug (corticosteroid hormone). It works by decreasing the body's natural defense response (immune response).Prednisone is used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood disorders, breathing problems, severe allergies, skin diseases, cancer, eye problems, and immune system disorders. Prednisone belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It decreases your immune system's response to various diseases to reduce symptoms such as swelling and allergic-type reactions.

I had microscopic colitis, which was mis-diagnosed as IBS for 10+ years. What a relief to have gotten the new diagnosis, with an actual treatment plan! I have been taking budesonide for over a year. My face is a little bit puffy, I've had a little facial hair growth, but its all worth not running to the bathroom all day long!

I feel much better and I am worried when I have to stop taking this medication. The only problem is it makes my heart pound and my ankles have swelled.

However once again this only happens in very cases.

I was put on this for asthma since my inhalers were not doing the trick. Problem is that I am very sensitive to medications and I am only on day one an I am having severe arm and leg cramping, but on the plus side I am able to breath better. Doctor now put me on a lower dose hopefully this will help with the cramping
