Bupropion vs Modafinil

BupropionBupropion ModafinilModafinil
Bupropion is an antidepressant used to treat a variety of conditions, including depression, other mental/mood disorders, and smoking cessation. Antidepressants can help prevent suicidal thoughts/attempts and provide other important benefits. However, studies have shown that a small number of people (especially people younger than 25) who take antidepressants for any condition may experience new or worsening depression, other mental/mood symptoms, or suicidal thoughts/attempts. Therefore, it is very important to talk with the doctor about the risks and benefits of antidepressant medication, even if treatment is not for a mental/mood condition.Modafinil decreases extreme sleepiness due to narcolepsy and other sleep disorders such as difficult/irregular breathing during sleep (e.g., obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome-OSAHS). It is also used to help you stay awake during work hours for people with work schedules that interfere with a normal sleep routine (shift work sleep disorder-SWSD). It is not known how modafinil works to increase wakefulness. It is thought to work by affecting certain chemicals in the brain that control the sleep/wake cycle. Modafinil does not make up for lack of sleep and should not be used to treat tiredness or hold off sleep in people who do not have a sleep disorder. This medication is not recommended for use in children.

Gave me stability I needed and continues to do so..... side effects minimal, but definately makes me feel edgy and I am short tempered. Its a trade off, but its worth it.

Do NOT take this poison! It is a high-grade amphetamine. Don't let any doctor lie to you about it. I took it 5 years and have been off it 3 years, taken off this poison by a nonAmerican doctor who doesn't buy into the "give-a-pill" theory of medicine. Wellbutrin has changed my brain permanently. I was never angry before. Now I live every day very angry. My life is hell filled with anger. ...

I just started this drug and after two days I have noticed a burning on my face and a weird feeling in my neck. take 150 in the morning. No problem with other side effects but will stop this drug because it feels like an allergy to it. Have been taking cymbalta but it is expensive, this is cheaper, but not worth the change. Will call dr tomorrow, don't like the generic for welbutrin, so I guess it ...

Helped a lot and am definately alert after taking it. Basically had no side effects. After three years I have noticed it not having same affect as before. Plan is to get off of it completely and ...

I began Modafinil four months ago. Since then, I have been confused, unable to focus, daily headaches, overwhelming exhaustion, yawning constantly, out of breath easily.. a complete wreck and unable to function in society. It didn't work for me, but it may work for someone else. Good luck.

I need to stop taking this med due to bad feeling of repeatedly yawning trying to get a deep breath over and over along with terrible headaches. This all happens after I take 200mg pill. Unsure of what this med is doing to my body or heart. In the past I took the name brand Provigil with no side effects but I was younger maybe healthier?who knows .....anyhow better to be safe even though I have no wakeful life at all.
