Cyclosporine vs Gengraf

CyclosporineCyclosporine GengrafGengraf
This medication is used to prevent organ rejection in people who have received a liver, kidney, or heart transplant. It is usually taken along with other medications to allow your new organ to function normally. Cyclosporine is also used to treat severe rheumatoid arthritis and a certain skin condition (severe psoriasis). Cyclosporine belongs to a class of drugs known as immunosuppressants. It works by slowing down your body's defense system (immune system) to prevent your body from rejecting a transplanted organ, further damaging your joints (in rheumatoid arthritis patients), or further damaging your skin (in psoriasis patients). For the treatment of psoriasis or arthritis, it is generally used to treat people who cannot take other medications or have not found relief from other treatments. This medication is used to prevent organ rejection in people who have received a liver, kidney, or heart transplant. Interestingly I only found one other post where someone was taking cyclosporin for aplastic anemia which is what I have. My white count started at 2 when I was diagnosed. I am now up to 81. But have had many platelet transfusions. I have been taking this for about 2 years. I went through the ATG and had 2 heart attacks while in the hospital. They put a stent in my heart. I am home now but the side effects are brutal! Growing dark hair everywhere. However, the hair on my head is thining. Fatigue, confusion, eyesight and hearing problems. Muscle aches...I could go on and on...How long can a person take this stuff? My oncologist tried to wean me off but had to put me back on. Oh yes, I almost forgot (haha) I also now have two confirmed leisions of skin cancer on my face. Plus I need to have a liter of saline every day because this is damaging my kidney function.

I lost my insurance after 10 years of taking Neoral I was put on Gengraf, I feel my body does not agree with it as well as the Neoral did. I have lots of joint and muscle pain constantly I have no idea if this is from the Gengraf
