| This medication is used for temporary relief of coughs without phlegm that are caused by certain infections of the air passages (e.g., sinusitis, common cold). This product should not usually be used for an ongoing cough from smoking or long-term breathing problems (e.g., chronic bronchitis, emphysema) unless directed by your doctor. This product contains dextromethorphan. It is a cough suppressant that works by decreasing the feeling of needing to cough. Cough-and-cold products have not been shown to be safe or effective in children younger than 6 years. Therefore, do not use this product to treat cold symptoms in children younger than 6 years unless specifically directed by the doctor. Some products (such as long-acting tablets/capsules) are not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details about using your product safely. These products do not cure or shorten the length of the common cold and may cause serious side effects. To decrease the risk for serious side effects, carefully follow all dosage directions. Do not use this product to make a child sleepy. Do not give other cough-and-cold medication that might contain the same or similar ingredients (see also Drug Interactions section). | Add Delsym review Killed my cough but then killed my night and day. I woke up literally dizzy and seeing double after a horribly restless night. All day I have been dizzy, wobbly disoriented. Honestly, it has been 19 hours since I took it and I'm still light-headed. Never again. I've taken this several times to help ease my coughing during the night so I can sleep. I've used the liquid and the lozenges. It had ZERO effect on my cough. Didn't suppress my cough at all. Plus it makes me have extremely unrestful sleep...when I take up I must wake up 30 times in the night! Not good. HORRIBLE! I am an older man in good physical condition. I take no medications but needed something for a dry cough I get at night. I was up most of the night with terrible diarrhea! Thinking the problem was something else I took a dose before bed again only to experience the exact same results. Throw it away!!! | Add Mucinex review i am in the navy and medical gave it to me, i had a simply cough that turned into something else, light headed , vomitting and feeling weird in my head as if i wanted to pass out....this pills are not for e i will not recommed them to anyone. Most cold/cough medications do not seem to work all that well for me, and Mucinex fits the profile. It MAY have made my cough slightly more productive, but only marginally so. The size of the pill was quite manageable. I would have liked to have known there was possibility of it keeping me awake - I would not have taken it at bedtime. I normally go to bed early but I just cleaned carpets at 1 am. After two days of taking it I still have many periods where my cough is quite bad. I'm also glad tok now where my stomach problems have been coming from. | |||
