| Valsartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It is also used to improve the chance of living longer after a heart attack. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Valsartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. | This drug is used to treat high blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a "water pill" (diuretic) that causes you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of extra salt and water. | Add Diovan review I have had alot of headaches, and itchy skin with lots of bumps on my arms. Really drying out my skin. Two years of severe dry eyes & wonder if this could be a side effect of valsartan w/HCTZ One year on med great.know the side effects are tough dizzy,sun burn very easy never had that problem .cramps in legs.getting of this med I have been on this medicine for 5 years and have never had a problem. About a week later I developed gout like symptoms in my feet and overall foot pain. I have less upper body pain but quite a bit of continuing neck pain which I had for years. It was fine at first. Now I am experiencing extreme hand, leg and foot cramps, along with some light headedness. | |||
