| Famciclovir is used to treat infections caused by certain types of viruses. It treats shingles caused by herpes zoster. It also treats outbreaks of herpes simplex that cause cold sores around the mouth, sores around the anus, and genital herpes. In people with frequent outbreaks of genital herpes, famciclovir is used to help reduce the number of future episodes. Famciclovir is an antiviral drug. However, it is not a cure for these infections. The viruses that cause these infections continue to live in the body even between outbreaks. Famciclovir decreases the severity and length of these outbreaks. It helps the sores heal faster, keeps new sores from forming, and decreases pain/itching. This medication may also help reduce how long pain remains after the sores heal. In addition, in people with a weakened immune system, famciclovir can decrease the risk of the virus spreading to other parts of the body and causing serious infections. | Valacyclovir is used to treat infections caused by certain types of viruses. | Add Famvir review On second day of using this medication, I started with a wicked headache, and then extreme nausea set in. The side effects are worse than the condition of shingles. I stopped taking this medicine, am uncomfortable, but at least am not debilitated by side effects. I was into the shingles infection about 5 days when I went to the doctor. It looked just like poison ivy. She prescribed Famvir. The shingles spread like wildfire for the next 3 days. I have two days left of medication and I'm concerned I may need another round. No appetite. Heart palpitations. Tired. Is it the drug or the shingles? Hard to determine. | Add Valtrex review prescribed as a "just in case this is herpes". Developed rash and difficulty urinating almost immediately upon use. Stopped taking the drug(generic) and days later developed lower back pain, constipation, muscle aches(legs felt like i ran a marathon), joint aches,fatigue and a general "heavy" feeling in the genital area. Rash has yet to be officially diagnosed as drug relate ... I have herpes and have tried 2 of those sites and I quickly became discouraged until I found LocalHerpesDating.org. I like it so much that I just feel compelled to mention it here. I have never met a more friendlier bunch of people on a single website than I have on this site and I belong to a lot. Not only are their forums super busy but their chatting room is hysterical!
