| Flomax is used in men to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH). Tamsulosin is known as an alpha-blocker and works by relaxing muscles in the bladder and prostate. I find that, as long as I take it on schedule, and don't forget doses, my urine stream has improved a great deal, almost to the level of what I considered normal. Oddly enough, though, I think this has led to another problem. I've developed nocturia and often have to get up from bed to urinate. Now that my flow is strengthened due to this med, I often have incontinence if I'm in a deep sleep and the urge doesn't wake me up in time. Not sure of this, of course, but it seems logical. Had an allergic reaction to this drug. After a couple days a rash broke out on my arms and lower legs (below the knee), and had the urge to urinate about every 15 minutes. Stopped taking drug and urination problems went away but still have rash. Have to go to a dermatologist. | |||
