| This medication is used to treat symptoms caused by too much stomach acid such as heartburn, upset stomach, or indigestion. It is an antacid that works by lowering the amount of acid in the stomach. Check the ingredients on the label even if you have used the product before. The manufacturer may have changed the ingredients. Also, products with similar names may contain different ingredients meant for different purposes. Taking the wrong product could harm you. | This medication is used to treat the symptoms of too much stomach acid such as stomach upset, heartburn, and acid indigestion. It is also used to relieve symptoms of extra gas such as belching, bloating, and feelings of pressure/discomfort in the stomach/gut. Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles in the gut. Aluminum and magnesium antacids work quickly to lower the acid in the stomach. Liquid antacids usually work faster/better than tablets or capsules. This medication works only on existing acid in the stomach. It does not prevent acid production. It may be used alone or with other medications that lower acid production (e.g., H2 blockers such as cimetidine/ranitidine and proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole). If you are self-treating with this medication, carefully read the package instructions before you start using this product to be sure it is right for you. | Add Gaviscon review I have noticed a brown patch on the back of my tongue in the morning. I am also taking 1 Prednisone tablet a day. I WAS NOT EVEN ABLE TO SLEEP DUE TO MY MEDICAL CONDITION,UNTILL MY PHARMACIST OF MORE THAN 20 YEARS RECOMMENDED ME TO TAKE GAVISCON EXTRA STRENGTH AS INDICATED - I WILL CONTINUE USING IT. | Add Maalox review It works for me too, all I want to know is, does it cause dark green stools, and if so, if I took a dose on Monday, would it still be in my body affecting the stool,,,,,,OR, do I have a worse medical problem.
