Glycopyrrolate vs Scopolamine

GlycopyrrolateGlycopyrrolate ScopolamineScopolamine
Glycopyrrolate is used with other drugs to treat a certain type of stomach/intestinal ulcer (peptic ulcer). This medication may help relieve stomach/abdominal pain. However, it has not been shown to be effective in healing these ulcers, preventing them from returning, or preventing other problems caused by ulcers. Glycopyrrolate works by decreasing the amount of acid in the stomach. It also slows the natural movements of the gut and relaxes the muscles in the stomach/intestines. Glycopyrrolate belongs to a class of drugs known as anticholinergics. This skin patch is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness or recovery from anesthesia and surgery. This medication works by correcting the imbalance of natural substances (acetylcholine and norepinephrine) that can occur in motion sickness. It also blocks certain signals to the brain that can cause nausea and vomiting. This medication is not recommended for use in children.

So my excessive sweating was usually hands feet and under arms. At first I started with 1mg in the am and 1mg at night. That dose decreased the degree of sweating but didn't completely stop it, especially when nervous or something. So I increased by two in the am and one in the pm and seems to work very well without overly drying you out. It is probably 90% better. I only take them during the work week and even on the wkends the degree of sweating is much decreased after a while

I just started this medication a couple of weeks ago, because of my really bad hyperhydrosis in both my hands and my feet. It was so bad I couldn't or wouldn't correct and read classmates papers, because the ink would smear, and I was constantly wiping my hands on my jeans. I recently started on this medicine, about a week ago, on 1mg per day, but it is yet to show improvement. If anyone has any ideas of how much I should be taking, or how long it is going to take to kick in, it would be greatly appreciated. Anything would help. Thanks.

This is the best motion sickness drug on the planet!! I have used it for years and now my 13 year old daughter uses it too. You apply the patch behind your ear 4 hours before you travel, and you are good to go for three days!! Perfect for weekend trips. I have never had any side affects, no drowsiness or upset tummy. Neither has my daughter. If you have trouble with motion sickness, get this patch!!

Horrible, horrible drug. Took it for a cruise.started getting dizzy after removal the day after removing patch. Have been dizzy, nauseous and vomiting , blurry vision for 6days now. Feel awful. Went to dr. but he said he had never heard of anyone getting these symptoms. I hope this goes away soon. Don't know what to do. Please everybody stay away from this drug.
