It works by restoring the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine) in the brain. For bed-wetting, this medication may work by blocking the effect of a certain natural substance (acetylcholine) on the bladder.Nortriptyline is used to treat mental/mood problems such as depression. It may help improve mood and feelings of well-being, relieve anxiety and tension, and increase your energy level. Nortriptyline belongs to a class of medications called tricyclic antidepressants. Imipramine worked well in the beginning, especially with sleeping. However, within a year, my dosage had been increased to the highest mg available. It seemed to loose its potency after a few months. I ended up switching to another.

The medication was working at first, then I started getting swollen ankles, dry mouth, and blurred vision. I will definitely stop using this. I'd rather deal with the pain from minor head injury.
