| Levothyroxine is used to treat an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). It replaces or provides more thyroid hormone, which is normally produced by the thyroid gland. Low thyroid hormone levels can occur naturally or when the thyroid gland is injured by radiation/medications or removed by surgery. Having enough thyroid hormone is important for maintaining normal mental and physical activity. In children, having enough thyroid hormone is important for normal mental and physical development. This medication is also used to treat other types of thyroid disorders (such as certain types of goiters, thyroid cancer). | Add Levothroid review It was the best Thyroid Medication I've ever taken with no side effects! I felt energetic and healthy all the years I was taking it. Then all of a sudden my Pharmacy said it was taken off the market and I've been ill ever since. How can I get this medication again? I have tried other Thyroid Meds and they make me feel sick and bloated and weak all the time! I took it for one month - felt great. Missed the 2nd month didn't have the money. I have only taken one dose, just started. Am concerned about continuing. I still cant loose weight I have changed my lifestyle and everything. my numbers are good so I cant complain a lot. I have a hugely swollen thyroid. so im assuming surgery is my next step. What people have to accept is when your body is no longer able to make it's own natural hormone such as thyroid then you enter an arena of comprise. I have found through trial and error what works for me but it has taken about four years........ I now take thyroxin last thing at night every night and at 110lbs & 5:4' I have found 100mcg work ... | |||
