Gabapentin is known as an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug. | Topiramate is used alone or with other medications to prevent and control seizures (epilepsy). Topamax is also used to prevent migraine headaches and decrease how often you get them. Topiramate will not treat a migraine headache once it occurs. | Add Neurontin review Since taking this drug for pain I have been left with numbness that is not going away!!!This is more disturbing than the pain!! So far, so good! I am on the smallest dose currently and it has eased my fibromyalgia pain greatly. I was truly suffering from severe pain in my legs, lower back and hips. Ever increasing doses of narcotics did nothing to relieve it. Through numerous diagnostic tests, a process of elimination pointed to the cause being a side effect of a chemotherapy drug (vincristine) used in my cancer care. I did some research and asked my GP to prescribe Neurontin. Once we gradually raised the dose to 300 mg. ... It feels like it made my tremors, and muscle spasms worse. Doesn't stop the leg cramps, doesn't help with the neuropathy. Overall, I don't think this drug is for me...I feel so much worse, and the shaking is preventing me from eating (without embarasing food drops), I cannot write legibly, and it's even hard for me to type on the computer.
