14 days after I had been on this medicine, I got the worst allergic reaction of my life. My entire bod has broken out in a bright red rash, and after 3 days it is still spreading after I have discontinued the drug.

I was treated for a couple of weeks on this medication. I had been having chronic urinary tract infections which had been treated by oral antibiotics including ciprofloxacin, keflex and septra ds. They were effective only for a short period of time and once I was off of these meds the infection would come back. I even had several weeks of gentamycin bladder irrigation which was unsucessful. I have been off this IV medication now for several weeks and I have not had any more symptoms of a bladder infection. I am estatic because I have been having bladder infections for a few years now and I was worried it might never be cured. But it looks like ertapenem did the job and I am very happy with this medication. I had no side effects. The only thing that bothered me was the dressing I had to use to cover my midline. It was very irritating.
