Enoxaparin is used to prevent and treat harmful blood clots. Preventing harmful blood clots helps to reduce the risk of a stroke or heart attack. This medication helps keep your blood flowing smoothly by lowering the activity of clotting proteins in the blood. Enoxaparin is sometimes commonly referred to as a "blood thinner," but its more correct term is "anticoagulant." It is a type of heparin. Conditions which increase your risk of developing blood clots include certain types of surgeries (e.g., knee or hip replacement), long periods of being immobile, certain types of heart attack, and a specific type of chest pain called unstable angina. For some medical conditions, enoxaparin may be used in combination with other "blood thinners."Rivaroxaban is used to prevent blood clots from forming due to a certain irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) or after hip or knee replacement surgery. It is also used to treat blood clots (such as in deep vein thrombosis-DVT or pulmonary embolus-PE) and to prevent the blood clots from forming again. Rivaroxaban is an anticoagulant that works by blocking certain clotting proteins in your blood.

chest pains,weakness in arms from elbows up to shoulders and upper back. nauseated. thought i was having a heart attack.

i was put on enoxaparin after an intolerance to coumadin. i find this drug very effective. of course sticking myself once a day is an inconvenience, but the benifits greatly outweigh the small amount of pain.

The mid rate for effectiveness is because I really do not know yet if it is effective. Even my Dr. Said we really don't know if it's working. I do really enjoy the benefit of no testing, and no dietary restrictions. I have had no problems related to the medication other than some occasional bruising. I take this medication for 2 blood clotting disorders. I have had open heart surgery in the past year.
