| Famotidine is used to treat ulcers of the stomach or intestines. It may be used to prevent intestinal ulcers from returning after treatment. This medication is also used to treat certain stomach and throat problems caused by too much acid (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, erosive esophagitis) or a backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux disease-GERD). This form of famotidine is given by vein and is used to treat these conditions for a short time when you cannot take the medication by mouth. Your doctor should switch you to taking this medication by mouth when possible. Famotidine is known as an H2 histamine blocker. It works by reducing the amount of acid in your stomach. | Add Famotidine review Because my insurance stopped covering the previous medication I was on, my doctor switched me to famotidine. It works much better than what I had been on, no side effects and complete relief from GERD symptoms. | Add Omeprazole review not good Absolute Disaster. Did not work at all....I have taken Omeprazole made by Mylan, and it worked. This was like taking candy. It had absolutely no effect at all. I have taken the medication for 2 years and it did relieve the constant sour stomach I had. My throat is not irritated and burning anymore either. It does increase some gas and burping sometimes but that is better than the alternative.I have had some constipation( not eliminating completely) and dizziness. My doctor suggested taking omeprazole once daily instead of twice and it helped with dizzin ... If i miss a dose for 2 days what harm will it do? I've had an awful burning feeling and bouts of vomiting.... | |||
