| Famotidine is used to treat ulcers of the stomach or intestines. It may be used to prevent intestinal ulcers from returning after treatment. Famotidine is known as an H2 histamine blocker. It works by reducing the amount of acid in your stomach. This helps heal and prevent ulcers and improves symptoms such as heartburn and stomach pain. This medication is also available without a prescription. It is used to prevent and treat heartburn and other symptoms caused by too much acid in the stomach (acid indigestion). If you are taking this medication for self-treatment, it is important to read the manufacturer's package instructions carefully so you know when to consult your doctor or pharmacist. | Lansoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Lansoprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). If you are self-treating with this medication, over-the-counter lansoprazole products are used to treat frequent heartburn (occurring 2 or more days a week). Since it may take 1 to 4 days to have full effect, these products do not relieve heartburn right away. | Add Pepcid review This medication worked, but the skin problems developed were horrible. A rash on the thighs, back and chest and leg swelling twice the normal size. The skin is black and pebbly, and I had to be put on antibiotics to get rid of the secondary infection. Not a safe product as far as I am concerned. Eliminated symptoms and allowed me to sleep. One tablet in the morning and one at night. don't forget to drink a full glass of water after swallowing chewable tablet. May need additional tablet at bedtime if acid reflux or indigestion is active. No negative reactions. No bad side effects. This medication works great for preventing acid reflux and preventing the acid from entering my lungs however I experience severe gas. And it's not pleasant gas either. I am talking clearing the room kind of gas. It is not very pleasant when your a woman! I need the medication though as nothing else works. So I am stuck with the stink..... | |||
