| This medication is used to treat the symptoms of a prostate gland condition called BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia, also known as enlarged prostate). It is an alpha blocker that works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder neck and prostate. Relaxing these muscles leads to relief of symptoms of BPH such as the feeling of needing to urinate frequently or urgently, difficulty in beginning the flow of urine, weak stream, and the need to urinate during the middle of the night. | Add Alfuzosin review I have used this medication for quite some time. It seems to have taken care of my problems with my prostate and kidney stones. I have been on this drug for 15 months. I feel less lightheaded than with Flomax. Recently, my pharmacist switched to another lab and I have far less episodes of lightheadedness. My physician recommended using more salt as a way to raise my BP. I am taking this medicine for last 4 years.I am enjoying sound sleep. Before starting this medicine frequency of urinating in night was 4-5 times. Now it is reduced to 1-2 times.
