Fexofenadine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.Montelukast is used regularly to prevent the wheezing and shortness of breath caused by asthma and decrease the number of asthma attacks. Montelukast is also used before exercise to prevent breathing problems during exercise (bronchospasm). Singulair can help decrease the number of times you need to use your rescue inhaler. Singulair is also used to relieve symptoms of hay fever and allergic rhinitis (such as sneezing, stuffy/runny/itchy nose).

I have been taking taking Allegra 180mg once a day for over 5 years. While it is very effective in relieving allergic symptoms like itching eyes, ears, nose, face scalp it has a number of very unpleasant side effects, including: locks up the urinary tract bladder ache back pain leg and muscle cramps pain in the bottoms of feet Low energy level decrease in mental clarity and focus Sharp tickle in back of throat I do not feel the trade offs are worth it and have stopped taking it. Within 2-3 days I stopped experiencing the above side effects.

I've been taking Allegra/generic, 60mg, 1x/day for many years and it worked very well for my year round allergies. Recently my insurance stopped covering due to OTC status. Taking everyday since the season stated and recently started having an irregular heart beat. Anyone have this problem?

seeing as how throat Irriation and coughs so hard you almost black out, are sides effects make this drug pretty worthless. Add in the fact I have to take this drug twice a day to have ANY effect (thats 2 180mg pills) First chance I get I'm going back to Claritin.

I have experienced constant thoughts of suicide. Didn't know until checking on WebMD that Singulair could cause this.

I have been on Singulair since it was available. It has been a Godsend. I have had asthma for over 40 years. I just realized this evening that the generic is not working for me. My asthma has not been controlled since Oct '12. That is the time my pres was switched to generic. I am on prednisone now and even that is not working.I rarely took my rescue inhaler before Oct. Now I take it 4 time ...

I've taken Singulair for over 18 years and it was very effective and caused no side effects that I was aware of. Recently my phamacy switched me to the generic for of this drug and it has totally failed. I'm now dealing with a severe asthma problem and once again needing to use albuteral inhalers. STAY AWAY FROM GENERIC SINGULAIR if you have had good control with the name brand.

I have used Singulair for several years with great success. I hardly ever needed to use my inhaler. All of that changed this year with generic. It is a disaster. I am now using my albuteral at least 3 times a day. I will be asking my Dr to change me to a different drug the end of this month.

I have taken the NAMEBRAND Singulair for 15 years. It has controlled my asthma so well, that I only need the inhaler 102 times a year. Since switching to the generic, I have had trouble breathing - even walking up stairs. I asked my doctor for a short term Rx for the name brand, Within a day, I was breathing completely fine and I feel so much better For me, the generic does not work at all.
