Thankfully the pharmacist warned me to be careful because it could weaken tendons so I limited my activity. The UTI symptoms went away after the first dose. After 8 days I developed a pain in my ankle and was told to wear an ace ankle wrap, elevate, use ice, & take ibuprofen, all of which helped, but I was still limping ... my doctor prescribed this for me for a suspected bladder infection, I read all the information on this drug and decided NOT to try it, I have a lot of allergies and am very sensitive to a lot of med's. a lot of the side affects of this drug are not reversible, I feel like I dodged a bullet, so glad I read up on all drugs that I sometimes need.. I have not seen my doctor since he prescribed this, a ... rash and welts all over my upper body and inside thighs. red spots up to 12" diameter and welts on both inner arms and on back...within 6 hrs of taking one 500mg. also hard on stomach...but slays the bacteria in the bladder. I'll never take it again. After two days I have developed intense vaginal pain. Waves of recurring pain. | Add Macrodantin review HAVE HAD RECURRENT CYSTITIS FOR 30 YEARS. WAS PUT ONTO MACRODANTIN JUST OVER 1 YEAR AGO AND NOW TAKE 100MG EVERY SECOND DAY. HAVE NOT HAD A BLADDER INFECTION SINCE. I am shocked and so sad for the pain this drug has caused so many. This drug saved me from a UTI. No antibiotic worked for my UTI. So I was sent to urinary specialist and he gave me this medicine to take for infection, about a 10 day cycle at 3 pills a day and then put me on a maintenance dose for prevention when I had intercourse. I stayed on prevention for about a year using only after intercourse. It worked very well for me. Never had a side effect at all. I'm glad I read these reviews cause my sister has been having UTI she can't get rid of and she's 69 and a heart patient and I was going to recommend this to her to ask her Doc about trying. Now I don't think I'll do that. I took mine in the 1980's. No problem. But I don't want to risk my sister having any of these side effects. Guess I was just fortunate it worked so well for me. | |||
