Rosuvastatin vs Simvastatin

Rosuvastatin is used along with a proper diet to help lower "bad" cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise "good" cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It belongs to a group of drugs known as "statins." It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver. Lowering "bad" cholesterol and triglycerides and raising "good" cholesterol decreases the risk of heart disease and helps to prevent strokes and heart attacks. In addition to eating a proper diet (such as a low cholesterol/low-fat diet), other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better include exercising, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking. Loss of memory, confusion, couldn't follow in-structions about simple things. Was a different person in every aspect. Went off of it for two days and memory has improved, but some confusion remains. Had taken for 6 months and got worse with the symtoms listed. continually during that time.

I just got rejected by my drug company. They want me to try a generic brand of cholesterol reducing medicine. There is no generic for Crestor. This has worked for me. I don't want to change because of the possible side effects from using other drugs. I have not had any side effects using Crestor. So in other words, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The drug companies need to leave us alone and let us lead as healthy lives as possible.

My doctor increased my dose from 40 to 80 mg (after previously increasing it from 20 to 40), and my latest cholesterol level was higher than it's ever been!
