| Add Coumadin review after ablation i have been very tired and achy i was fine before(3-mo.s) use I have a stent in my cartoid artery in my neck, was taking plavix, went back to dr for test, was told my stent shut down, no bring it back so i am only have blood flow to one side of my neck to my brain, he put me on comundin for life taking 2 5mg pills a day. would like to have advice from anyone on this? I am relieved that there is a medicine that can control my own blood's emphasized clotting activity. It killed my father and grand father and left my aunt severely disabled after a stroke. I had a total left hip replacement & was put on 5mg coumadin when I was released from the hospital. I had to set alarm to take it at 5pm every day because I would forget. It made my joints & muscles achy and changed my personality. My husband said I was snapping at him and that isn't my nature at all. My gums bled terribly & my taste buds were way off. Nothing I ate tasted right. My ta ... I took this drug for 7 years for Atrial Fibrillation. It did not affect my quality of life. You can eat greens, as long as you always eat greens, so they can set the dosage accordingly. I could not take deep breaths and was given steroids and antibiotics on 2 different trips to Dr. because I wasn't getting better. These of course still did not work so my Dr. thought he better check me for blood clots. Yep, I had plenty in my lungs along with some dead lung tissue due to damage. I was in the hospital a week ... I take the drug because I have been told that I have to - I have had two episodes of DVT/PEs and am now on the drug 'for life'. The only problem with the medication is that it has been difficult to keep it regulated. It is always too high or too low. I have had lumbar surgery since being on the warifin. I was off for a few weeks and now it's difficult getting back regulated again. | |||
