Prilosec vs Ranitidine

PrilosecPrilosec RanitidineRanitidine
Prilosec is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. Prilosec helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Prilosec belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).Ranitidine is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and prevent them from returning after treatment. Ranitidine is also used to treat and prevent certain stomach and throat (esophagus) problems caused by too much stomach acid (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, erosive esophagitis) or a backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux disease-GERD).

I am worried about the long term use of this product, but I can't stop it because it helps. I dislike going to doctors so I will ...

What amazes me is that it is the main ingredient in the expensive OTC (Prilosec, Zantac etc) and you can buy 200 tablets 150 mg at Walmart for abo ...

Ranitidine works, but for me there were too many negatives. I noticed I was more depressed, irritable and sleepy.
